CATC encourages connection with the wider design community through regular Think Talks where we invite industry professionals to speak with our students about what’s going on in their world. Interacting with students and the general public in this way gives you a chance to connect to a new generation of designers, immerse yourself in an enthusiastic environment and talk to an audience hungry to know more.

Festival of Change

Take part in our annual celebration of education, entrepreneurship and positive change.

Now in its second year, the Festival of Change is when CATC Design School gets together with other Think Education colleges to throw a party in the name of education. If you do something cool, this could be the prime soapbox for you to tell the world. Guest speakers, workshops, technology demonstrations, whatever; we’re always on the look out for new festival participants.

Working to create an arresting pop-up presence for Polyflor at Sydney Indesign’s Galleria design hub, a select group of students worked to take the display stand from concept to completion in only four weeks.

I work closely with industry, students, alumni and academic teams to deliver a unique work integrated learning experience for all students at our two design colleges - Billy Blue College of Design and CATC Design School. I come from a varied background across education and design. I continually put together networking opportunities, alumni events, expos and seminars to give students the best opportunities for real-life interactions with industry professionals. I’m passionate about connecting students with industry to help launch their careers - because isn’t that why we study?

I’m a Melbourne-based industry and careers advisor working here at CATC. I’m passionate about helping students make a successful transition from study to rewarding career. With extensive experience in the delivery of networking opportunities, alumni programs, internships and on-campus events, I like to think I have my finger on the pulse of Melbourne's design industry. If you need support reaching your career aspirations, please consider me your go-to.

I am an education professional with fifteen years’ experience in the audio post-production, multimedia and education industries. I have worked in VET and Higher Education sectors with diverse groups of students and staff in Australia and Dubai in negotiating and facilitating industry placements across the creative industries. With a wealth of experience in coordinating Work Integrated Learning (W.I.L.) projects both in the Emirates and Australia I am focusing my career on finding real world work outcomes for real world students at Think Education... "Everybody goes to work".

Since commencing my role as industry advisor at Think Education I have been responsible for industry and clinic placements, alumni and industry relations, pod sponsorship and industry events on the Brisbane campus across five of the colleges under the Think Education banner; ACNT, ANCB, APM, BBCD and CATC. In my capacity as design industry advisor I have established industry placements with The Print Bar, Hannah Cutts Creative, CMD, Tinker Creative, Clemenger BBDO, RoundHouse, World Wide Printing, Strait Jacket Press and Open Minds. I am very excited about the future of placements in the design industry in Queensland with great feedback from our current industry partners and tremendous potential for future placements with new industry partners.
