To be eligible to graduate at a Think Graduation Ceremony , you will need to successfully complete all course requirements, have no outstanding fees or outstanding library loans. You will also need to register to Graduate.
You will receive a registration email in February 2015 which will provide details on how to register. Please note that you must respond by the date specified.
All students who have registered their intention will have their results academically assessed against the course requirements to confirm eligibility for the Award.
If you believe you have completed all course requirements and do not receive an Intention to Graduate email, please contact Student Services.
If your current VISA is due to expire before your graduation date or for international guests wishing to attend, please contact the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (www.immi.gov.au) to find out more information. For any required documentation, please contact Student Services.
Your Invitation to the Graduation Ceremony
You will receive your invitation by email four (4) weeks prior to the event. Your invitation will contain a link for you to RSVP to attend your ceremony. Please ensure you RSVP by the date noted on the invitation. If you do not RSVP by the due date, you will not be able to graduate at the ceremony. We are not able to accept any late RSVP’s.

Higher Education Students
If you do not respond by the RSVP date, by default you will graduate in absentia. You may also choose to graduate in absentia. Your award will be conferred at the Graduation Ceremony. All Official Graduation Documents will be mailed to you within 30 days of the ceremony.
Please note; if you RSVP that you cannot attend and choose to graduate in absentia, you will not be able to change your mind and attend the graduation ceremony.
Please log on to your Student Portal and ensure that all of your personal details are correct. If these details are incorrect we may have to reissue your official graduation documents which may incur a fee.
You will be issued tickets for yourself and two guests. Additional tickets can be purchased at a cost of $35. Please ensure you do not invite more than two guests unless you already have extra tickets. There are a limited number of extra tickets available and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Additional tickets will not be available for purchase on the day. Please note that children who require their own seat will need to have a ticket.
If you require assistance with moving around the hall or going up the steps to receive your testamur (for example, if you use a wheelchair), please let us know in your RSVP.
You need to register your attendance at the ceremony with the Graduation department. You will need to bring your photo identification to register for your ceremony and academic dress. To ensure that you have a stress-free experience, please arrive early and register at the time noted on your graduation invitation.
PLEASE BE ON TIME – Students who have not arrived within one hour prior to the Ceremony commencement will not be permitted to participate in the Graduation Ceremony.
You are expected to arrive 1.5 hours prior to your ceremony time. You will then be registered for a seat and gowned in your academic dress. All graduands must be in their seat 30 minutes before the ceremony starts for a short rehearsal (guests are not permitted to attend rehearsal). The rehearsal will advise you what to expect during the ceremony, and what you need to do.
All graduands participating in a ceremony are required to wear the appropriate academic dress for their award. Academic Dress will be provided to you once you have registered on the day. Please ensure you wear appropriate attire underneath your gown. Smart casual attire is recommended. You are expected to return your Academic Dress within an hour after the conclusion of your ceremony to staff in the Gowning area or you will be charged for the cost of the gown.
Due to the nature of the venue thongs are not permitted. Please note that the graduation venue has varied surfaces and there are a number of ramps and stairs to negotiate during the ceremony, so please wear appropriate footwear.
Please do not make travel arrangements for your guests until you have an email confirming the name of your guests attending. Additional guest tickets are subject to availability. Guests must be in their seats 10 minutes before the ceremony starts.
Video recording and photographs
Photos are not permitted during the ceremony. There will be an opportunity to take photos in the foyer areas after the ceremony concludes. Think Education staff will also be taking photographs for use in Think Education publications and promotional materials. You should advise Think Education staff if you do not wish for your photograph to be used for these purposes Photographs A professional photographer will be available on the day. Photographs will be taken during the ceremony and an opportunity for professional photos to be taken with your guests will be available for one hour after the ceremony concludes. The photographs will be available for purchase through the Photographer’s website.
You and your guests will be provided with light refreshments after the Graduation Ceremony.
Train – the closest train stations to City Recital Hall Angel Place are Wynyard and Martin Place stations.
Ferry – City Recital Hall Angel Place is a 10-minute walk from Circular Quay.

Accessible parking spaces are available in the Angel Place car park beside the venue elevators. Wilson Parking operates a 180-space car park next door to City Recital Hall Angel Place at 123 Pitt St, Sydney. Secure Parking operates No.1 Martin Place car park (The Westin) a short walking distance from the venue.
