Professor Andrew Flitman

External Member and Chair of the Academic Board

PhD (Warwick University), BSc (1st Cl Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science, FACS, FORS.

Prof Andrew Flitman, is currently Principal of iMORSE (a higher education consultancy practice), has extensive higher education leadership and governance experience and has worked across both public and private sectors. He is also a Principal Advisor for Wells Advisory and a Subject Matter Expert (Higher Education) for Price Waterhouse Coopers. Across these roles Andrew had held various governance positions within institutions, including as Chair of Governing and Academic Boards. He has also advised numerous institutions with respect to policy and procedure frameworks, as well as strategic directions, and mergers and acquisitions.

Andrew held leadership roles in the Australian higher education industry for over a decade including Deputy VC (Research) at Swinburne University (2007-2012), Dean of Science and Technology at Deakin University (2005-2007), and Head of School (Business Systems) at Monash University (2000-2005). Andrew was an Adjunct Professor of the Florey Neurosciences Institute and the LH Martin Institute of the University of Melbourne between 2012 and 2020. He is currently an Honorary Professor for Torrens University. He was first promoted to Professor at Monash in 1997.

In addition to his university leadership career, Andrew has held senior positions at Deloitte Haskins and Sells (UK), Coopers and Lybrand Deloitte (UK), and Price Waterhouse (Melbourne).

Since obtaining his PhD in Operations Research from Warwick University UK, Andrew has published well over 100 research publications and has authored many commercial reports. He is also a Fellow of both the Australian Computer Society and the Operational Research Society.
