Are the courses approved by industry?
Yes they are. All of the nationally recognised courses offered by CATC have been put together with extensive input from industry. We’ve had input from different sectors of the graphic design, multimedia and interior decoration and design industries in the form of a Curriculum Development Advisory Committee (CDAC). The CDAC provides us with feedback on the relevance of what is being taught at CATC to ensure we remain abreast of technological changes and trends within the sector of industry. Additionally, all teaching staff at CATC are working professionals and have extensive industry experience.
Is it hard to get in?
Applicants are considered on a one-to-one basis to ensure that the course is suitable to their particular needs and skills.
I don’t have a portfolio, can I still apply?
All applicants are considered for CATC courses. A portfolio helps us see how creative you are and gives the Course and Career Advisors an insight to your skills and ability so they can give you the best advice on CATC courses and your career in design. Refer to the entry requirements on each of the course pages for more information.
I have previously studied and/or worked within the design field, can I receive credits for things that I have done?
Yes. If you can demonstrate competency in any of our learning outcomes you can apply for course credit. Please contact a Course and Careers Advisor for more information.
